Beste docenten,

Zotero is dus gratis.

+Stabieler

Adaptiever: actieve community, bugs snel verholpen, advies binnen 20 minuten binnen via forum.

One advantage of using Zotero with Google Docs is that multiple people can collaborate on a single document -- inserting and editing citations -- without being in a Zotero group. However, if someone cites an item from their personal library, only they will be able to update the metadata for that item. We recommend creating a group library that allows all collaborators to change cited item metadata.

It is not necessary for all collaborators to have the Zotero connector installed, but without it they will see active citations in the documents as URLs.

All four of the tools reviewed here are usable for standard reference manager functions, and each has strengths and weaknesses. For example, in our testing, Zotero’s browser add-on was the easiest to use and captured data more accurately than the other add-ons did. EndNote offered the most choices for searching databases within the tool, and Zotero generated the most accurate bibliographies

Endnote verlaters voor Zotero

Userforum Zotero : + via Forum ervaringen gevraagd.

I moved from EndNote to Zotero.  A couple of major benefits of Zotero:

1) Free, which is a major benefit when working with students

2) Better citation support for a lot of styles

3) Group functionality is much better—collaboration is easy, you can have unlimited members in groups

4) In my experience, Zotero is much faster and more stable than Endnote

What I can tell you here is that my partner uses Endnote and every time it's a dreadful experience. The app slows down after a certain amount of time and needs to be restarted in order to work decently again. The pricing is completely unjustified, and the last-minute 64 bit support released months after apple removed the ability to run 32 bit apps makes me thing that the team behind endnote does not have the right priorities and is struggling to keep up with the times. Zotero just works. It's not going to be the most beautiful piece of software, but it's good enough for me. Let me know if you want to chat a bit more about it.

This tutorial is the result of a couple of years of trying different software packages and reference manager setups. After some trial and error, I’ve settled on a system that is smooth, efficient, and free. The key is to use Zotero in conjunction with a cloud-based storage service. With this setup you will be able to: 1) Download, rename, and organize academic papers, news articles, web sites, and other reference material with one click; 2) Have virtually unlimited storage for your PDFs with automatic back up; 3) Extract highlighted text and annotations from PDFs and associate them with references 4) Search and insert references within a Word document and automatically insert a reference list in the required formatting style of virtually any journal; 5) Create multiple libraries that you can share with collaborators and/or the public.
